As a Humanist, I believe that each of us is responsible for shaping our own lives in the here and now and in making sense of the world through logic, reason and evidence. I believe in treating people the way I would like to be treated - with compassion, understanding, and respect.
I have led a varied and travelled life, working in both private and public sectors along the way. I have experienced love and loss, marriage and divorce, births and miscarriages - but have always believed in celebrating both the happy and the sad on the journey. My graduate and post-graduate degrees in English from the University of Guelph and Professional Writing from the University of Waterloo combined with my experience in journalism, theatre and public speaking provide a solid foundation for a quality and professional service for your ceremony. Happily married and with my own 5 children and a combined family including 3 more children and their children, various pets and hobby farm animals, I make my home in Leeds & Grenville County in southeastern Ontario. As I continue to learn and grow, I pursue a number of hobbies and interests including riding my motorcycle with my husband and friends, participating and acting in local community theatre, music - both watching and playing - gardening, quilting, sewing & crafting, volunteering in the community and with the Ontario Humanist Society, and any other constructive endeavours that I can find time to help with. |
